Brief History of Department:

  • The AUDIO VISUAL RESEARCH CENTRE was established in 1996
  • It was renamed as Educational Multimedia Research Centre in August 2004
  • This is a 100% UGC funded Body
  • One among the 17 media centres around the country
  • With a primary mandate to develop educational television programmes and syllabus based lectures for telecast on DD-1, GyanDarshan and Vyas, the 24 hour higher education channel and
  • To develop e-content and e-learning capsules for UGC-CEC Web based Education.
