University College of Fine Arts


 
       University College of Fine Arts is a constituent college of the University of Mysore. To propagate fine arts, Mysore University felt the necessity to establish a college exclusively meant for learning Fine Arts. Dr. Shreemali, the then Vice – Chancellor of the University inaugurated the college of Music and Dance on 10th September, 1965. In 1971, the institution was renamed as University College of Fine Arts which is situated in Manasagangothri Campus. The University of Mysore started this college to make it the pivot of fine arts activities and to protect the rich cultural heritage of Performing Arts. The student stream comprises Indian as well as foreign students. The College is recognized as the centre for Research by the University of Mysore.
 
Academic Courses offered:
University College of Fine Arts offers Under – Graduate course, Post – Graduate Course, Diploma in Mridanga and Ph.D. programme.
Post – Graduate Course: Post – Graduate Course in Music (M. Music) and Post – graduate course in Dance (M. Dance) are offered. The duration of the course is two years with four semesters under choice based credit system (CBCS).
